The question this page answers
What is each rep doing across Smartlead email and JustCall calls, measured against one set of weekly targets?
Why Smartlead and JustCall do not line up on their own
Smartlead knows the lead's email address, the campaign, the email accounts attached to that campaign and each lead's message history.
JustCall knows which agent made each outgoing call, the outcome, the disposition the agent chose and the notes they wrote.
The two tools share neither a person record nor a rep record. Smartlead has email accounts; JustCall has JustCall agents. A week of outbound is split across two exports with different columns and no common ID.
Both tools ration their APIs: JustCall keeps three months of call history, and Smartlead paces requests per plan. Rebuilding a quarter of combined activity by hand means stitching exports that were never meant to share a time range or a column.
How OutboundManager joins Smartlead and JustCall
- Smartlead only identifies the sending mailbox when a campaign uses exactly one email account. For every other campaign the send is credited to the campaign owner.
- Each JustCall agent is a dialer seat, and each seat is mapped to a rep. Map a rep's Smartlead email accounts and their JustCall seat to the same rep.
- Smartlead leads become contacts identified by the lead's email address. When JustCall has an email address for the contact, the call is attached to the same contact.
- Smartlead replies are classified from their text as interested, not now, not interested, wrong person, opt-out or auto-reply. A JustCall call counts as connected when the call was answered and had at least 10 seconds of conversation.
- Reply rates stay per send. Calls and connected calls are counted in their own columns and never inflate the number of touches.
- With HubSpot connected, each deal is credited to the most recent email sent, LinkedIn invite, LinkedIn message or call to any of the deal's contacts, before the deal was created and no more than 120 days before it: a Smartlead email or a JustCall call to a known contact can both be that touch.
A worked example
You connect both tools on a Monday. Over the first few sync runs the backfill fills in: Smartlead sends and replies by campaign and JustCall outgoing calls by agent, as far back as 90 days. You map email accounts and agents to reps and give each rep a weekly number for sends and a weekly number for calls. The scorecard then shows the current week with a bar for each.
What you can see once both are connected
- Smartlead sends and replies and JustCall calls and connected calls per rep, each with its own weekly target and progress bar
- Up to 90 days of history from both tools, filled in over a few sync runs on large accounts (Sync now starts the next run straight away)
- Sends, replies, positive replies, calls and connected calls per rep on one row, each against a weekly target
- A weekly report by email or Slack that covers both tools
- With HubSpot connected: meetings and pipeline per rep next to the activity that produced them

The rep scorecard: one row per rep across every connected tool. With a dialer connected, each rep also gets calls and connected calls. Demo data.

After both are connected
- Map senders to reps. In Settings → Reps & senders, give every mailbox, LinkedIn account, dialer seat and HubSpot owner a rep. Re-mapping later moves the history with the sender.
- Set weekly targets per rep on the same page, so the scorecard shows each number against a target and the overview flags reps under 60% of it.
- Add recipients or a Slack webhook for the weekly report in Settings → Report, so the combined numbers arrive every Monday. Connect HubSpot whenever you want meetings, pipeline and won revenue next to them.
Good to know
- SmartleadSmartlead allows 60 API requests a minute per plan, so OutboundManager paces itself and a large account can take a few sync runs to backfill.
- SmartleadThe sending mailbox of a send is only known when the campaign uses exactly one mailbox; otherwise the campaign owner gets the credit.
- SmartleadOpens and clicks are not imported.
- JustCallJustCall's API only gives the last 3 months of calls, so that is the whole history you can backfill.
- JustCallRequests are paced for JustCall's Team plan limit (30 a minute), so large accounts take several runs to backfill.
- JustCallConnected means answered with at least 10 seconds of conversation. JustCall counts machine pickups as answered; the floor filters most.
- JustCallIncoming calls are skipped.
Smartlead + JustCall questions
How much history do I get on day one?
Up to 90 days from each tool. JustCall's API holds about three months, so that is the ceiling for calls. Both tools are rate limited, so a large account can take several sync runs to finish backfilling; runs happen automatically every day, and Sync now starts the next one without waiting.
Can I set targets that cover both email and calls?
Targets are per rep and per metric. Sends, calls, replies and meetings each get their own weekly number, shown as a bar on the scorecard.
Do I need HubSpot for Smartlead and JustCall to work together?
No. The rep scorecard, the campaign table and the weekly report work with just Smartlead and JustCall. HubSpot is what adds meetings, deals, pipeline and won revenue; it is the only CRM supported today.
Can OutboundManager start calls or send emails through JustCall or Smartlead?
No. It never dials and never sends outreach. It reads from both tools; the only thing it sends is an answer a person on your team writes to an email reply, through Smartlead.
