Comparison
OutboundManager vs native CRM reports
CRM reports are the right answer when every email, call and meeting is logged in the CRM: the data is already there and the reports cost nothing extra. Most cold outbound is not logged there, because it is sent from separate email and LinkedIn tools on separate mailboxes. OutboundManager reads those tools directly, ties the activity to HubSpot deals, and can write the result back so your CRM reports improve too.
Where native CRM reports work well
One source of truth for deals
Pipeline, stages, amounts and close dates belong in the CRM. Nothing should replace it for deal reporting, and OutboundManager does not try to.
Great when activity is logged there
If reps email from CRM-connected inboxes, call through an integrated dialer and book meetings on the CRM calendar, activity reports per rep are accurate with no extra tool.
Already paid for
Reports and dashboards come with the plan you have, and the rest of the company already reads them.
Customisable by an admin
A CRM admin can build almost any view of the objects the CRM holds, with the permissions and sharing the company already uses.
Where it breaks for multi-tool outbound
Cold sends never reach the CRM
Cold email runs on separate domains and mailboxes in a dedicated sender, and LinkedIn runs in its own tool. Unless someone builds and maintains a sync, the CRM sees none of those touches.
Syncing everything pollutes the CRM
Pushing every cold prospect and every send into the CRM creates thousands of contacts who never replied, which costs money on contact-based plans and buries the real pipeline.
Campaign names do not arrive on the deal
Even when a prospect is created in the CRM after replying, the campaign that reached them is usually lost, so a deal report cannot be grouped by cold campaign.
A logged email is not a classified reply
The CRM can count emails received. It does not know which were out-of-office, which were opt-outs and which were real interest.
Activity is per CRM user, not per sender
A rep who sends from several mailboxes and a LinkedIn account has no single row in a CRM activity report unless every one of those is tied to their CRM user.

When to choose which
Stay with native CRM reports if
- Reps send email from inboxes connected to the CRM and call through a dialer that logs to it.
- You do not run cold email or LinkedIn from separate tools.
- Your CRM is Salesforce or another CRM that OutboundManager does not connect yet.
- You need forecasting, deal inspection or custom objects, which are CRM jobs.
Choose OutboundManager if
- Cold email and LinkedIn are sent from dedicated tools that do not log to HubSpot.
- You want pipeline and won revenue per cold campaign and per rep.
- You want reply rates based on human replies, with auto-replies removed.
- You would like the source campaign, channel and rep on the HubSpot deal without building a sync.
Questions about native CRM reports
Does OutboundManager replace HubSpot reports?
No. HubSpot stays the system of record for deals. OutboundManager reads deals, meetings and logged calls from HubSpot, adds the activity from your sending tools, and shows outbound per rep and per campaign. With write-back on, the attribution lands on the deal so HubSpot reports can use it.
What exactly is written back to HubSpot?
Four deal properties in a group named OutboundManager: source campaign, source channel, source rep and the date of the touch. They are written only on deals with an outbound attribution. Write-back is off until an admin turns it on.
Does it create contacts in HubSpot for every cold prospect?
No. It does not create contacts, companies or activities in HubSpot. It matches the people you contacted to existing HubSpot deal contacts by email or LinkedIn URL, with the company domain as a fallback.
Does it work with Salesforce?
Not yet. HubSpot is the only CRM OutboundManager connects today.
